TASTE GOURMET COFFEE LOVERS COURSE

There is lots to learn and find out about coffee and it’s a wonderful journey of flavours, aromas and tastes all steeped in history.

Do you really love your coffee & always wanted to know more? Do you know what makes a good coffee? What coffee beans are best? Where does coffee come from? Do you want to learn to make great coffee?

If you have answered yes to any of the above, then our Taste Gourmet Coffee Lovers Course is for you.

Believe or not, coffee making is a fine art. Our qualified barista would like to share with you the secrets of fine coffee making over a two and a half hour session. No experience or prior knowledge is required, just passion and a strong desire to learn. And you’ll get to drink some great coffee, some of which you will make yourself.

During this session, you will:

  • Learn the history of coffee and how coffee is roasted and blended
  • Learn how a good coffee should look, smell and taste;
  • Experience the difference between great coffee and awful coffee
  • Learn to achieve a perfect extraction by making your own coffee on the Taste professional machine (an ‘under extracted’ coffee is weak/watery/sour, an ‘over extracted’ coffee is burnt/bitter)
  • How to texture (froth) milk correctly
  • Learn why milk is so important to a good coffee
  • Learn the correct milk temperature and what type of milk is best for coffee texturing
  • Learn the right and wrongs of milk texturing and how to texture silky creamy milk
  • Learn the different types of coffee served in a café and how to make these coffees
  • How the espresso machine and grinder works and basic maintenance tasks such as grind setting and grind adjustment
  • Practise your newly learnt skills on Taste’s own professional coffee machine
  • Meet different people from all walks of life, who are all interested in what makes that wonderful coffee experience
