My friends at Taste Gourmet have asked me to visit over Easter to say hello and hand out some Easter Eggs.
I thought it was a great idea, but I wanted to make sure YOU didn’t miss out. You’re one of my favorite kids, so I thought I’d write this quick note. I’ll be visiting Taste Gourmet

Taste Gourmet are also having a colouring in contest for Easter and every kid who enters gets a free Easter egg. Also, there is a first prize of a $20 Easter Basket. I’d love to see you, make sure you come by and say Happy Easter.

Easter is the Christian celebration commemorating the resurrection of Christ from the dead, after his crucifixion on Good Friday. One of the most interesting things about Easter is that it is somewhat of a "melting pot" holiday, with traditions that are deeply intertwined with Christian, Jewish and Pagan practices.
EASTER EGGS Easter Eggs, the symbol of fertility and new life, are easily the most identifiable symbol of the holiday. Eggs are an Easter custom that date back to Pagan times. The bright colors that adorn the eggs symbolize the sunlight of spring and celebrate the equinox.
THE EASTER BUNNY Rabbits and "Easter Bunnies" are a carry over from Pagan times where they symbolized fertility and new life. This has to do with the fact that rabbits are notable for the speed at which they are able to reproduce.
CHOCOLATE The Aztecs referred to chocolate as "nourishment of the Gods." Chocolate contains chemicals thought to effect the brain relaxing and stimulating you at the same time! The secret for passion is to share your chocolate with someone you love. Try our Gourmet Chocolate Hot Pot or a Triple Chocolate Brownie!
LAMB Lambs are a significant symbol of Easter. Ever since the 9th century, the main course of the Pope's Easter dinner has traditionally been roast lamb. Easter lamb also has its roots in the Jewish holiday Passover. Lamb is traditionally served at Passover to commemorate the lamb that was sacrificed at the Holy Temple of Jerusalem on the eve of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt.
